Thanks to a lobbyists for this bit of disturbing news. Here is a letter from the National Sheriff’s Association to Congress demanding better border security.
Here are the names of the Ohio Sheriffs that have signed the letter.
Ashland County, OH- Sheriff E. Wayne Risner
Clermont County, OH – Robert S. Leahy
Mercer County, OH- Sheriff Jeff Grey
Union County, OH- Sheriff Malcum J. “Jamie” Patton
Thanks to Lobbyist Kim C. for the following two reminders about Sheriff Dunlap’s previous statements:
Thanks to another Lobbyist for his opinions on this issue:
“As I see it, the commissioners, especially the Republican ones, count on eastern Lake County to be elected. This is where the illegal aliens find employment. If the Republicans come out against illegal aliens, AND actually start doing something about it, they will incur the wrath of those who benefit from the use of illegal aliens. Of course, the Democrat will always be on the side of illegal aliens.
Our sheriff is a Republican. His funding is determined by the commissioners. And, more than likely, his elected position is also largely dependent upon his support of what the commissioners want. As a matter of fact, in the 2008, 2012, and 2016 elections, Sheriff Dunlap ran unopposed in the general election. Even when the county commissioners were controlled by Democrats, the sheriff didn’t have a Democrat opponent.”
(Comment: We thought we elected a constitutional Sheriff not a political one.)
We see that the Lake County Sheriff Daniel A. Dunlap did not sign the letter. We are going to try to get a response from the Sheriff’s Department.

Here is our email message to the Sheriff:
We have attached the letter from the National Association of Sheriffs to the Members of Congress regarding the need for additional border security.
(Comment: This is a political “hot button” because of the quantity of illegal aliens that live in Lake County. The nursery industry and a host of other businesses want the cheap labor so they can make money off the illegal laborers, politicians want the potential new voters, and the churches want to bolster their declining enrollment. [There is no way the Board of Elections can verify their citizenship as long as they can show a driver’s license.] In the meantime, Lake County residents get to pay higher real estate taxes for the education and social costs for the children of illegal aliens. It makes me wonder why Lake County residents accept the fact that illegal aliens are a protected class in our community? How about making seniors living on fixed incomes a protected class? It is time to call out the elected officials. Either they support the rights of Lake County citizens, or they support the illegals – they cannot have it both ways.
Citizens of Lake County – it is up to you to speak out, exert yourselves to ensure that your rights are protected by our politicians and elected officials. Silence is no longer an option!)
